About the Artist
Rustam Khamdamov is a Soviet and Russian film director, screenwriter, artist, creator of an original metaphorical visual film language, author of a number of films that have become events not only in domestic but also in world cinema.
Rustam Khamdamov graduated from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography, studied at the workshop of Grigory Chukhrai. He created sketches of jewelry for haute couture houses in Milan, Paris, New York, designed jewelry for the American company Russian World Gallery. In 1997 he was awarded the Triumph national independent award as an artist, screenwriter and film director, and in 2003 he became the first Russian artist in history whose works were accepted into the modern Hermitage collection during his lifetime.
His works are in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery, in the American Museum of Rotkers University, in the National Italian Gallery in Ravenna, as well as in private collections around the world.
