Olga Soldatova

About the Artist

Olga Soldatova is an artist, designer and architect, born in 1965. She graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute and studied the art of mosaics in Ravenna, Italy. Most of her work depicts Soviet symbolism, which she puts in a modern way. And of the planes in her work, the artist says: «It’s a symbol of height. You have to be higher, more beautiful and more powerful.» In the 90's Olga Soldatova became one of the first designers working in the avant-garde style. The artist also worked in different cities, including Hong Kong and Paris. As one of the leading designers of the 1990s and 2000s, she worked as an art director for accessories for a large Chinese firm. She has participated several times in contemporary interior design exhibitions in London 100% Design and Maison&Objet in Paris. The artist uses different materials in her works. She makes mosaics, embroiders cloth and accessories, and uses felt. The artist’s works were exhibited in the Tretyakov Gallery, the Moscow Museum of Architecture (MUAR), and her personal exhibition was held at the Museum of Moscow.
